President’s Message and Season’s Greetings – December 2019
Dear IUA Members!
I would like to convey my very best wishes and sincere thanks to all our members as we wrap up an eventful 2019 and shift our momentum into the next calendar year. The past 12 months have been marked by noteworthy achievements and changes.
During the 2nd IUA Endovascular Course for Young Vascular Specialists, held in May 2019, we for the first time conducted international on-line video exchanges of young experts from China, Italy, Thailand and other countries, who presented academic reports, which were welcomed by colleagues and achieved good results.
The congress of the European Society for Vascular Medicine and the IUA European Chapter in Ljubljana contained outstanding state-of-the-art and plenary lectures, satellite symposia, oral presentations, and poster sessions, based on selected abstracts submitted by participants.
In October, the 3rd IUA Chinese Chapter Congress was held in Beijing. We invited 500 experts from China, Europe, North and South America and Asia to share their experiences, and we believe that academic activities and exchanges will certainly promote the development of vascular medicine in China.
In the coming year, the IUA will organize the 29th IUA World Congress in Rome, Italy (April 23–27) and two courses for young vascular specialists – the 3rd IUA Endovascular Course for Young Vascular Specialists in Beijing (May 22–24) and the 8th IUA Course for Young Vascular Specialists in Prague, Czech Republic (July 15–19).
Last but not least, I remind all the IUA members to visit the IUA website and renew their membership for the next year. Thank you for your contributions to the society!
I sincerely wish you Merry Christmas and happy and successful year 2020!
